Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!! My significant other is in South Korea on business, so sadly, I'm alone today. If you have some one, don't take yours for granted! When you shrivel up into a prune you're going to be glad to have someone who can stand to look at you everyday. That's why it's important to lay the loving foundation now because the dating scene for seniors isn't as bountiful. If you don't have someone right now, then someone took you for granted and they don't deserve you anyway.

Since my lady is on the other side of the world, I'll be kissing the mirror tonight. "You handsome devil you. You just get better with age. You always know just what to say, you wizard of words! Oh, I see you're wearing the shirt I got you. It fits you like a dream." ....I'll pathetically say to myself. Is it so wrong to want to hear some complements on Valentine's Day? I could be sending a gift basket to myself, but when you're self-employed, what's the point?

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!

Newsflash: Wife Returns To Her Man Of Steel

Picked my wife up from the airport last night at around midnight. My she's grown. Stuffing my unborn son full of Korean barbeque and kimchi for a month straight. The amount of growth in just one month time is incredible. Hips widening, increasingly top heavy, 100% gorgeous.

I asked if she missed me and she said she missed watching the Bachelorette. "Did you record it?" Great! Yes, I did record it and then I took an empty garbage can into the middle of the backyard and through my DVR in and poured lighter fluid and charcoal all over it and cooked it. Speaking of the Bachelor and Bachelorette, those shows puts unrealistic expectations on men. Hey, let's take a private jet over to Paris on a whim and have wine and a picnic at the top of the Eiffel Tower! Then we'll walk around in tuxedos and dresses every night drinking wine and feed each other grapes by draping them above our heads and dropping them in our mouth like we were Julius Caesar. That's not real life. Those are people with no jobs, children, or obligations given scenario dates that costs thousands of dollars by the producers of a television show. Those shows are no different than romance novels really. The producers only amp up the romanticism to make the people FEEL like they are in love, when it's all just superficial and manufactured. At the end of the day, you cannot artificially CREATE the emotional act of love. That's why the majority of winners never stay together.

Anyways, that all was just a joke. She said she missed me. Hesitantly as it may have been. She said that the baby is tossing and turning and does thing to "protest" her behavior. For example, if she doesn't wake up and move around he'll cross his arms and push his elbows into her stomach. Gosh, how freaky is that? When she told me that, I pictured the diner scene in the movie Spaceballs when the guy orders the soup and the alien breaks out of his stomach and starts doing a kick-line dance back to the kitchen. I think about weird things in addition to real estate.

Home safe and sound! Website just days from completion! Posts should come more often as I push through this busy time of balancing active clients, building a website, taking care of my wife, and basically trying to be everything to everyone. Some would say I'm like Spiderman, Superman, Ironman, and Batman wrapped into one glorious Super Agent. Minus the vanity of it all, of course.

Another Weekend Sans The Wife: Website Update

Well, since my wife kidnapped my unborn child and fled to her homeland, life has been lonely. She is about 6 months pregnant at the end of this month. I can picture her now, waddling the monsoon-season streets of South Korea. She's probably not doing well without yours truly, crying, can't sleep, and talking to everyone about how much she misses me. Clutching the sky with fistfuls of air with tears running down the side of her face as she screams, "When, when will I be finished with my vacation!?" No, she looks great. In fact, she is probably one of the most beautiful pregnant women I've ever seen. She is perfectly shaped. As she ages, she grows more and more ravishing. Me on the other hand, I look like something you would have discovered living in a mountain cave that villagers had pointed to and warned of being haunted. Next time maybe you'll listen....with the one ear that remains!! Sorry, that was unprofessional. I'm not one of those agents who chews the ear off of your head. I swore to myself during my licensing classes I would never become one of those people.

My website is coming along nicely and we are in the home stretch of development. The site was expected to be introduced in the beginning of June, but the massive amount of content and design work has pushed it back to the first week of July. It will be worth it to make it perfect. Soon, www.I-Am-Real-Estate.com will be synonymous with real estate search and information for consumers. Imagine a world where you wanted to buy or sell a house in the Austin, Texas metropolitan area and all you have to do is go to one website to get the home sold or find the home of your dreams. Can you really put a deadline on that?!

My wife returns home on July 5th and the days have been counting down. I should really relish in my time alone, because once she gets back that means we are only a few months away from a life changing experience. Baby is born and all of sudden I have to try to look cool wearing a burping towel and a baby hammock on my chest. My only hope is that I can train my baby to be as cool as this one. Effortless. I promise I won't be the Realtor who arrives to a property showing with a baby under his arm. Rest assured. After the baby is born "Real Estate With A Pulse Blog" may have to be changed to "Real Estate With A Diaper Bag Blog." Doesn't sound quite as cool.

All Alone....Sorry, No Real Estate Relevance On This One

As many of you know (as I have been howling at the moon perched on my roof), my pregnant wife has gone off to South Korea to visit family for the next month. She has stolen my baby and fled to her home land! I knew she was using me. I now have to pass the time as my wife gallivants around South Korea without me. I'm stuck at home chained to my desk working. It's not so bad because I LOVE MY JOB and each and every one of my beautiful clients. *Virtual Kiss* Even when you love your job though, you daydream about traveling to other countries on missions. At least I do.

This extra time without her here gives me plenty of time to finish my website which still has tons of content that  needs to be written.....by me.....alone. It's me and my dog Valen. My wife may be having a great time, but she doesn't even know what kind of adventures she's missing back here. Valen and I chased rabbits today, I saved a turtle that was in the middle of the road, I found a dime (10x good luck) at Walmart, and typed seven more content pages for my website. OH the excitement! If not for this blog, I may not be able to contain it! ....I miss my wife and unborn son.

Life just is not the same when someone who is always there suddenly isn't. Kind of makes you think to not take people for granted and appreciate what you have. I was worried I may never see her again when she was about to go because she's pregnant and it's a 13-hour flight. I thought the womb would expand like a bag of potato chips at the high elevation of the airplane, but I guess the womb isn't vacuum-sealed because she got there without exploding. Apparently, the real danger of flying while pregnant isn't exploding wombs, but blood clots in the legs from sitting too long. I made sure she got up every hour to stretch out those veins and with my guidance, she arrived with two functioning legs!

Who's the best husband in the world? Long story short..... it's me.

Rounding Up Nicely...

Posts have been sporadic. Sorry about that. Hard at work on taking it to the next level on the ol' website, which should be launched early to mid June! Check back with the blog for the announcement!

Pregnancy Status Update: My wife is rounding up nicely. Never witnessed the growth of a pregnant woman first-hand. It's really quite amazing. The other day we got Subway. We had a coupon for buy one foot long, get one free. I ate the first half, paused and looked over at her to see she was into her second half already! She never eats more then six inches NOR does she eat six inches of sub faster than me! It was startling.

The other day I was walking ahead of her down the stairs and for a split second I felt like Indiana Jones running from the giant ball in the cave. No, I'm kidding. I think my wife is so cute pregnant. I want her big and round because that is evidence of a healthy pregnancy. I want my son heavily padded just in case the element's strike. She needs to be prepared. She's like a big, round, upside down strawberry. I don't like some of the emotional reactions, but she looks attractive physically. She looks soft. I think it's because I know what she is harboring....the only hope of the future of the Matthews' name. It's like Saving Private Ryan except minus Matt Damon, World War II, Nazis, bombs, killing, snipers and everything else in the movie. So, basically just the premise of saving the last person that can continue the family name. Bad analogy I guess.

She claims our dog Valen, knows she is pregnant because she always sits and rests her paw on her pregnant belly. I just nod in agreement, but in my head I'm just thinking the dog likes to be at the highest point and has no clue she is pregnant. Dogs like to be up high because they feel like it is prime protecting position. Plus, Valen weighs 6 lbs. She is a small Yorkshire Terrier. It's more like she sees how big (and beautiful) you are getting and doesn't want you to roll over on top of her. So best avoidance position to be alerted of an impending roll-over is to lay on the object that will roll. But I'm sure she knows you're pregnant. Animals have a weird sixth sense like that.

Another thing I find myself doing throughout this pregnancy is constant catering. Hormones are things that obviously cannot be harnessed for good. They capture a woman and tell her to demand your husband go to Taco Bell at 11pm to get them a Salsa Roja Tortada. I've learned to shut my mouth, keep my head down, and go or "I don't care about the baby" or "Nice to know you choose sleep over your wife and son." 'Great. That's great. Here I go. Thanks for the guilt trip. Here I go, grabbing my pants, putting back in my contacts, getting in the car yawning and squinting. If I get in a car accident on the way, I hope you know it's your fault.' Best part is I do all that, I get back and she's asleep. Perfect. No, I do it with an open heart because she is going through SO much, it's the least I can do. I do it with an open heart or she does it with a closed fist. So, I do have a choice.

Babies...with my Real Estate?

My first post on my internet diary. My wife is pregnant with our first child right now, so many of my posts from now until October will probably have a looking-after-a-woman-who-has-never-had-a-football-sized-living-thing-in-her-belly-before type of influence. Forgive me. I wanted to do a real estate blog with a tiny bit of my life mixed in. It’s not my fault I had a birthday and my wife started kissing me suggestively and motion directed me with her eyes to the bedroom and the realm of space and time literally collided to generate an energy proportional in magnitude to the frequency of the radiation it represents.... Literally.

Maybe I should have called this the “Soon To Be A New Dad Blog.” I could have decorated the borders with opposite sides blue and pink and had butterflies and dandies and little boy and girl angels. Maybe some birds and bees having a "happy fight." I didn’t though, it’s too late. I don’t want to go back and create a new one. Two blogs is too much responsibility. Not to mention, I can’t scare away two of the three people reading this blog (the other being my wife) just yet.

I’m not psyched about it, but I need to learn how to wear a papoose and still look cool. Jason Statham and Ed Harris look so cool bald and they're always intense in every character they play. You can’t even picture what they would look like with hair, but probably not as cool and intense. Basically, I want that to be me: cool when it's a challenge to be. Except in reality, you can substitute “bald” with a papoose strap and an infant encompassed within and “intense” with milk puked all over the front of my shirt. Anyways, this is some of what I’m thinking about right now. Million thoughts about babies and how my life is going to become a challenge.
